Ginza Bairin – Tokyo

This is a very difficult place to find if you don’t understand Japanese, but it is definitely worth it.

This place was the first specialty Tonkatsu (established in 1927) and still one of the best in Tokyo.

As in all restaurants in Tokyo you’ll have to queue, but it goes fast. In the meantime you can ‘enjoy’ the colorful plastic replicas of the dishes, to give you an idea of the menu.

The men rule the kitchen behind the counter, women rule the floor.

The katsu-don is one of their signature dishes and an absolute must-try.
